Description

Delicious Greek-style lamb burgers combined with fresh ingredients, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 slice white bread, crust removed and cut into ¼-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ cup finely chopped shallots
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh mint
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1½ pounds ground lamb
  • 6 pita bread rounds
  • Shredded iceberg lettuce
  • Thinly sliced tomatoes
  • Thinly sliced red onion
  • 6 ounces crumbled feta cheese
  • Tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the pieces of white bread and milk. Let it sit for a few minutes until the bread is softened.
  2. Add the chopped shallots, minced garlic, fresh mint, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix everything gently to combine.
  3. Add the ground lamb to the mixture. Combine it lightly until all ingredients are evenly distributed, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Shape the mixture into patties of similar size.
  5. Cook the lamb patties using your preferred safe method (grilling, pan-frying, or baking) until they are fully cooked and browned on the outside, about 5-7 minutes on each side.
  6. While the patties are cooking, warm the pita bread rounds until they are soft.
  7. To assemble, place shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and red onion on each pita. Add a lamb patty, crumbled feta cheese, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the meat to keep the burgers tender. Fresh ingredients enhance the flavor.
