Description

A warm, flavorful stuffing recipe perfect for Thanksgiving, passed down through generations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of bread (cubed)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 stalks of celery (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 23 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon of dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and celery, and sauté until softened.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Gradually add enough chicken broth to moisten the mixture without making it soggy.
  6. Transfer the stuffing to a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve alongside your Thanksgiving turkey.

Notes

For added texture, consider mixing in some toasted nuts or diced apples. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to 2 months.
