Description

A delightful dessert combining a soft cookie base with a rich, gooey chocolate filling, perfect for sharing at gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2½ cups (315 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cups chocolate chips
  • 1½–2 cups chocolate spread or chocolate ganache

Instructions

  1. Whisk the melted butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until combined.
  2. Fold in flour, baking soda, and salt until a thick dough forms.
  3. Line a 9-inch round pan with parchment paper. Press half the dough into the bottom, building up the edges slightly.
  4. Spread chocolate filling evenly over the dough, leaving a half-inch border.
  5. Flatten remaining dough and lay it over the filling, sealing the edges. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes until edges are golden and center is soft. Cool for 20–30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider adding nuts or swapping in caramel or peanut butter for the chocolate filling.
