Scale
- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar
- ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2½ cups (315 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1½ cups chocolate chips
- 1½–2 cups chocolate spread or chocolate ganache
Instructions
- Whisk the melted butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until combined.
- Fold in flour, baking soda, and salt until a thick dough forms.
- Line a 9-inch round pan with parchment paper. Press half the dough into the bottom, building up the edges slightly.
- Spread chocolate filling evenly over the dough, leaving a half-inch border.
- Flatten remaining dough and lay it over the filling, sealing the edges. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes until edges are golden and center is soft. Cool for 20–30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider adding nuts or swapping in caramel or peanut butter for the chocolate filling.
