Description

A delicious cake that combines rich chocolate flavors with a creamy cream cheese layer, perfect for chocolate lovers.


Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan or spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking pan.
  5. In another bowl, blend softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter in the pan.
  7. Evenly sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped nuts over the cream cheese layer.
  8. Pour the remaining chocolate cake batter over the top.
  9. Gently swirl the batters together with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  10. Bake for 40-45 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Allow to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before serving.
