A comforting dish of tender cabbage leaves filled with a savory mixture of beef, rice, and spices, all topped with a delicious tomato sauce.

- 1 head of cabbage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully remove the cabbage leaves from the head and blanch them in boiling water for about 2-3 minutes until pliable.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
- Combine the ground beef, cooked rice, sautéed onions, garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme in a bowl. Mix well.
- Place a generous amount of the filling in the center of each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, tucking in the sides.
- Spread some tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange the rolls seam-side down in the dish.
- Pour the remaining tomato sauce over the rolls.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Serve hot and enjoy your Golumpki!
Notes
Make sure to season the beef and rice mixture well. Taste it before filling the cabbage leaves to ensure it’s flavorful.
