Description

Rich and fudgy brownies infused with the warm spices of traditional gingerbread, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick.
  8. Let cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the batter for best texture. You can add nuts or frosting for variations.
