- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons coffee extract (or 1 tablespoon instant coffee)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2–4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in the microwave and transfer to a large mixing bowl.
- Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the bowl and stir until blended.
- Gradually mix in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until the batter is smooth.
- Spread the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before making the frosting.
- Dissolve the instant coffee granules in heavy whipping cream and set aside.
- Beat the unsalted butter until light and fluffy, then gradually mix in the powdered sugar.
- Slowly add the coffee-infused cream until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.
- Spread the frosting generously over the cooled brownies, slice, and serve!
Notes
For variations, consider adding nuts, mint extract, or a caramel drizzle.
