Description

A fun and easy treat made with dough, fried to a golden brown, and topped with powdered sugar and honey.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Honey for drizzling

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with honey before serving.

Notes

Enjoy while warm! For variations, try cinnamon sugar, fruit stuffing, or flavor infusions.
