Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Beef (chuck or sirloin), cut into bite-size pieces
- 2 Yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 8 oz Egg noodles
- 4 cups Beef broth
- 1 cup Cream or dairy-free alternative
- 2 tbsp Oil for cooking
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Slice the onions thinly for even cooking, and cut beef into uniform pieces.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, add beef in a single layer, and brown it on all sides. Set aside.
- Add sliced onions to the skillet, stirring to coat with oil and caramelize on medium-low heat.
- Continue cooking onions until golden and soft.
- Return beef to the skillet, pour in beef broth, and simmer until beef is tender and sauce thickens.
- Cook egg noodles in a separate pot until just tender, then drain.
- Add noodles to the skillet, pour in cream, and stir until well-coated.
- Season with salt and pepper, adjusting as needed. Serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter dish, reduce the amount of cream or use a dairy-free alternative. Be patient with caramelizing onions for best flavor.
