- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Make a well in the center and add the melted butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Incorporate the dried fruits and nuts into the dough.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
- Let cool before slicing. Serve with butter, cream cheese, or cranberry sauce.

For variation, consider using coconut oil for a dairy-free option or swapping sugar for maple syrup for added flavor.
