Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Divide the dough in half, adding red food coloring to one half and green coloring to the other.
- Roll small pieces of each color into logs and twist them together to create striped shapes.
- Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool slightly before sprinkling with crushed candy canes.
