Instructions
- Gather tools and preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9-inch round cake pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then invert to cool completely.
