- 10 large eggs
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1½ cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheese
- 2 cups cubed bread (optional)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into small crumbles. Drain excess grease and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 baking dish. If desired, add cubed bread to the bottom of the greased dish. Layer the cooked sausage on top, followed by the cheese. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the ingredients.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes until the eggs are set and the top is lightly golden.
- Allow the casserole to cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Let the casserole cool before slicing to maintain its structure. You can prepare it the night before for an easy breakfast the next day.
