- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup caramel chips
- ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
- ½ teaspoon flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Gently fold in the caramel chips and chocolate chips, if using.
- Use a cookie scoop to portion dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing cookies about 2 inches apart.
- Lightly sprinkle flaky sea salt over each dough ball before baking.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers look soft. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
For longer storage, you can freeze cookies. Place them in a freezer-safe bag or container, and they can last for several months!
