Description

A quick and tasty meal featuring savory beef sausage and tender orzo pasta, all cooked in one pot for easy cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sausage
  • 2 cups orzo pasta
  • 4 tablespoons garlic butter
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the garlic butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté until soft, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Slice the beef sausage and add it to the pot. Cook until browned, approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Add the orzo pasta and stir to combine.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth, increasing the temperature to bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is cooked through.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the orzo to prevent it from becoming mushy. This dish can be customized with additional vegetables or different types of sausage.
