- 1 lb pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Crumble in the Italian sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Add minced garlic and chopped sun-dried tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour a splash of chicken broth into the skillet and scrape the bottom to deglaze.
- Add remaining chicken broth and heavy cream, then stir in grated parmesan cheese and let simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Add cooked sausage and pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat with sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and additional parmesan cheese.
