Ingredients

  • 1 lb pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Crumble in the Italian sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. Add minced garlic and chopped sun-dried tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour a splash of chicken broth into the skillet and scrape the bottom to deglaze.
  4. Add remaining chicken broth and heavy cream, then stir in grated parmesan cheese and let simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add cooked sausage and pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat with sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and additional parmesan cheese.
