Description

Delightful ham and Swiss cheese pastries wrapped in crispy puff pastry, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (17.3 ounces) puff pastry (two sheets), thawed
  • 8 ounces sliced ham
  • 8 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Dijon mustard or your favorite sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface, rolling it out and cutting into squares or rectangles, about 4×4 inches each.
  3. Add a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese to the center of each pastry square. Optionally spread Dijon mustard for extra flavor.
  4. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket and seal the edges. Crimp with a fork for a decorative touch.
  5. Egg wash: Beat the egg with water and brush over the tops of each pastry.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

These pastries are great for parties, picnics, or as a snack. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
