Description

Crispy puff pastry encasing a delicious filling of ham and cheese, perfect for a quick snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 cup ham, diced
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Dijon mustard for added flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into squares, about 4×4 inches each.
  3. Mix the diced ham and shredded cheese in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. If desired, mix in a little Dijon mustard for flavor.
  4. Place a spoonful of the ham and cheese mixture in the center of each puff pastry square.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and press to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch.
  6. Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed vegetables or experimenting with different cheeses.
