- 1 box German chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- Whipped cream (for topping, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the cake mix instructions. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs in a large bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Let the cake cool for about 15 minutes.
- Poke holes all over the top of the cake using the end of a wooden spoon.
- Mix the sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce together. Pour over the warm cake.
- Combine the shredded coconut and chopped pecans, and sprinkle over the top of the cake.
- Cool the cake completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Serve chilled, topped with whipped cream if desired.
