A quick and delicious peppermint candy perfect for the holiday season, easy to make and share.
Ingredients

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Red and green food coloring (optional)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, water, and cream of tartar.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring gently until the sugar dissolves.
- Continue cooking without stirring until the mixture reaches 250°F (121°C) on a candy thermometer.
- Once the mixture reaches the desired temperature, remove it from heat. Stir in the peppermint extract and food coloring if using.
- Carefully pour the mixture onto a greased baking sheet or into a candy mold.
- Let it cool completely at room temperature.
- Once cooled, break or cut it into pieces or shapes of your choice and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for best freshness.
