Description

A quick and delicious homemade beef teriyaki dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing the beef flank steak into thin strips against the grain.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until the brown sugar dissolves.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the sliced beef for about 2 minutes until browned.
  4. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the beef and stir continuously until well-coated and sauce begins to bubble, about 3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions.
  6. Serve over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the beef to keep it tender. Adjust the sweetness of the sauce as per your preference.
