Description
A juicy and flavorful Easter ham cooked slowly in a crock pot with a sweet glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8–10 pounds fully cooked ham
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Optional whole cloves (for garnish)
Instructions
- Begin by preparing the ham. If it has a rind, gently score the surface in a diamond pattern to allow the glaze to penetrate the meat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, and ground cinnamon. Mix well to create the glaze.
- Place the ham in the crock pot and pour the glaze evenly over it. Use a basting brush to make sure the ham is well coated.
- Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 360 minutes.
- Once done, carefully remove the ham from the crock pot and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the sliced ham with any leftover glaze drizzled on top. Garnish with whole cloves if desired.
Notes
For best results, use a bone-in ham for richer flavor and moisture. Baste periodically for enhanced flavor.
