Description

A simple, rich dessert cake with a gooey top layer and soft chocolate base, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat together cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the chocolate batter and swirl gently with a knife.
  7. Sprinkle coconut and pecans on top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool before serving, and enjoy this rich, gooey dessert!
