Description

A delightful jam combining the natural sweetness of fresh cherries with the rich depth of bourbon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or low-sugar alternative)
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 packet fruit pectin

Instructions

  1. Mix the pitted cherries with the sugar and let it sit for about 30 minutes to draw out the juices.
  2. Add the bourbon and lemon juice to the cherry mixture.
  3. Heat the cherry mixture over medium heat until it comes to a boil.
  4. Stir in the pectin and continue to boil for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  6. Pour the jam into sterilized jars and seal.
  7. Allow to cool to room temperature before refrigerating.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks, or freeze for longer storage.
