- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground nutmeg in a large bowl.
- Gradually add water to the dry mixture, stirring until you achieve a thick, smooth batter.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Test the oil readiness by dropping a small amount of batter into it.
- Shape small portions of the batter and drop them into the hot oil carefully.
- Fry the festival until golden brown and floating, approximately 3 to 5 minutes.
- Remove the festival from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels.
- Serve warm, and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce or side dish.
Notes
For a sweeter version, add honey or chocolate chips to the batter. For a spicy twist, incorporate jalapeños.
