Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sourdough starter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Mix well to combine all the dry ingredients.
- In another bowl, mix the sourdough starter, milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla. Stir until everything is combined smoothly.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size, about 60 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
- Starting from one end, roll the dough tightly and pinch the seam to seal.
- Cut the rolled dough into equal-sized pieces to create rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Allow to cool slightly before enjoying warm.
