Description

Soft, fluffy dinner rolls served warm with a rich honey butter spreading.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for honey butter)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring to combine.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces, shaping each into a ball.
  7. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover them, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. While the rolls are baking, prepare the honey butter by mixing softened butter, honey, and cinnamon in a bowl until smooth.
  10. Once baked, brush the rolls with honey butter and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, brush honey butter on the rolls when they are warm.
