- 4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
- 4 Honeycrisp apples, peeled and sliced
- 4 Fuji apples, peeled and sliced
- 4 Gala apples, peeled and sliced
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves (optional)
- 1/4 tsp allspice (optional)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (optional)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
- Prepare the pie crust by unrolling two store-bought pie crusts, overlapping them, and pressing them together. Press into the pan and trim excess dough.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with granulated sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pour the apple mixture over the crust and drizzle with half of the caramel sauce.
- In a medium bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the crumble topping. Cut in cubed butter until crumbly, adding oats if desired.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples and drizzle with additional caramel sauce.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
- Cool completely on a wire rack for 2-3 hours before slicing into bars and serving.
