Description

Delicious homemade applesauce made effortlessly in a crockpot, perfect for enjoying warm or chilled.


Ingredients

  • 3 pounds apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • ¼ cup honey, plus more to taste
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 small lemon, divided (juice and zest)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples: Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces.
  2. Add Ingredients: Place chopped apples in the crockpot with honey, cinnamon stick, pumpkin pie spice, and juice from half of the lemon. Stir well.
  3. Cook: Cover and set the crockpot to LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  4. Mash or Blend: Remove the cinnamon stick and use a potato masher or immersion blender to achieve desired consistency.
  5. Taste and Adjust: Adjust sweetness with more honey or lemon juice if desired.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let cool slightly before serving warm or chilled.
