Description

A healthier take on the classic Chicken Parmesan made in the air fryer with a crispy texture and delicious flavors.


Ingredients

  • 4 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 cup Marinara sauce
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Cooking spray or olive oil for misting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the whole wheat breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Coat each chicken breast with the breadcrumb mixture and press down slightly to help the crumbs stick.
  4. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the chicken in a single layer.
  5. Lightly mist the tops of the chicken with cooking spray and cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Return the chicken to the air fryer and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve hot alongside pasta or a fresh salad.

Notes

For best results, ensure chicken breasts are dry before coating and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
