- 4 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Whole wheat breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1 cup Marinara sauce
- 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Cooking spray or olive oil for misting
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the whole wheat breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat each chicken breast with the breadcrumb mixture and press down slightly to help the crumbs stick.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the chicken in a single layer.
- Lightly mist the tops of the chicken with cooking spray and cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Return the chicken to the air fryer and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot alongside pasta or a fresh salad.
Notes
For best results, ensure chicken breasts are dry before coating and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
