A healthier twist on traditional fries, these crispy apple fries are made in an air fryer for a delightful snack perfect for all ages.

- 2 large apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or your favorite variety)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (or regular breadcrumbs)
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- Cooking spray
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (optional)
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (optional for a lighter option)
Instructions
- Peel the apples if desired and slice them into wedges about 1/2 inch thick, removing the core and seeds.
- Mix cinnamon and granulated sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
- Create a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
- Add half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture to the breadcrumbs and mix.
- Dredge each apple slice in flour, then dip into beaten egg, and coat with breadcrumb mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
- Arrange the breaded apple slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer and lightly spray with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture and serve with your choice of caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispiness.
