Description

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 28 ounce canned diced tomatoes
  • 15 ounce tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Gather and prep all ingredients; dice onion, mince garlic, and chop bell pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until it’s no longer pink; drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the pan; sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; let simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Cook pasta in boiling salted water according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F; layer cooked pasta and beef mixture in a baking dish, top with cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly; let cool before serving.
