- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions. Once done, drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sliced smoked sausage. Cook until the onion is translucent and the sausage is nicely browned.
- Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream; bring everything to a simmer.
- Add the cooked penne pasta and grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet. Stir until well combined.
- Season the dish with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to your liking. Allow it to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
