A comforting one-pan meal featuring hearty kielbasa, creamy sauce, and tender pasta, perfect for busy weeknights.

- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb kielbasa sausage, sliced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1½ cups shredded Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, add kielbasa, and cook until browned and crisp (4–5 minutes). Remove kielbasa and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté diced onion for 2–3 minutes until softened, then add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Sprinkle in the flour and stir for about 1 minute to make a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk and simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper, mixing until smooth.
- Add cooked pasta and kielbasa back into the skillet, and mix to coat everything in the sauce.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving warm.
Notes
For a healthier version, use turkey kielbasa and low-fat milk. Feel free to add more vegetables for nutrition.
