A delightful dish featuring tender tortellini, hearty sausage, and vibrant broccoli enveloped in a creamy garlic sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage, remove casings if necessary
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package (9 oz) cheese tortellini
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring well to combine with the garlic and allowing to simmer gently.
  4. Incorporate the Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning into the sauce; season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cook the tortellini according to package instructions, adding the broccoli in the last 2-3 minutes.
  6. Drain the tortellini and broccoli, returning them to the skillet with the creamy sauce and adding the cooked sausage.
  7. Toss everything together until well coated, cooking for another 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  8. Serve hot and sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Do not overcook the broccoli; add it during the last few minutes of cooking to keep it vibrant. Adjust seasonings to taste.
