Description

A quick and comforting pasta dish made with garlic, butter, and Parmesan, ready in just 20 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 stick Unsalted Butter
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili Flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1/4 cup Basil
  • 1 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan
  • 8 ounces Pasta

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water. Add your choice of pasta and cook according to the package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  2. Sauté Onions and Garlic: While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Then, add minced garlic and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Season the Mixture: Lower the heat and sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, chili flakes, and oregano. Stir well to combine and let the flavors meld for another minute.
  4. Combine the Pasta and Sauce: Once the pasta is cooked, drain and reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the onion and garlic mixture. Toss to coat the pasta in the buttery sauce.
  5. Add Creaminess: Gradually mix in the reserved pasta water and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese melts and forms a creamy sauce around the pasta.
  6. Finish with Fresh Herbs: Tear the basil into smaller pieces and stir it into the pasta. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Serve: Plate the creamy garlic butter pasta while it’s hot and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overcook the pasta and always reserve pasta water for a creamier sauce.
