- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat until the meat is cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased casserole dish.
- Spread half of the ground beef mixture on top of the potatoes.
- Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef.
- Repeat with the remaining potatoes, beef, and soup mixture.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, consider using lean ground beef or substitute with a vegetarian alternative.
