- 8 oz pasta (such as penne or fusilli)
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. When the pasta has about 3 minutes left, add the broccoli florets to the boiling water. Drain pasta and broccoli together.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes), avoiding burning the garlic.
- Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet and toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm, topping with grated Parmesan if desired.
