- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 3 Large Eggs (At room temperature)
- 1 cup Whole Milk (Or cream)

- 3–4 Granny Smith Apples (Peeled and sliced)
- 1 cup Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
- 1/3 cup Sugar
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (Cold, cut into pieces)
- 4 Egg Yolks
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 2 cups Whole Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, followed by the whole milk.
- Combine the rolled oats, sugar, and flour in another bowl. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in the wet mixture.
- Fold in the sliced Granny Smith apples.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with the streusel topping.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean and cool for 10 minutes.
- Whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, and milk in a saucepan and cook until thickened. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Serve the cake warm with custard or allow it to cool completely.
Notes
Use fresh Granny Smith apples for the best flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
