- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup crushed cornflakes
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spread half of the beef mixture over the potatoes, followed by half of the soup mixture.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and soup mixture.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- In a small bowl, combine crushed cornflakes with melted butter and sprinkle over the cheese layer.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
Notes
Let the casserole cool down before storing leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
