- 2 cups jasmine rice
- 1 can (13.5 oz) full-fat coconut milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
- Cilantro or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Combine the coconut milk, water, salt, and sugar (if using) in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Stir in the rinsed rice, reduce the heat to low, and cover with a lid.
- Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with cilantro or green onions before serving.
Notes
For a dessert variation, add chopped fruits and a dash of cinnamon.
