- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the flour and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl.
- Add the softened butter and mix until crumbly.
- Press this mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Mix together sweetened coconut, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
- Pour this coconut mixture over the baked crust.
- Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
- Serve chilled with whipped cream if desired.

For best results, allow the bars to cool completely before cutting to ensure clean slices. These bars can be stored at room temperature for a couple of days, refrigerated for up to a week, or frozen for three months.
