Description

Deliciously sweet and soft donuts filled with your favorite fruit jam, perfect for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fruit jam (for filling)
  • Sugar (for rolling)
  • Oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter over low heat until warm.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  3. Pour the warm milk mixture into the dry ingredients and add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until you form a sticky dough.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thick and cut out circles using a round cutter.
  7. Let the cut donuts rest for another 30 minutes on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to around 350°F (175°C).
  9. Fry the donuts in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  10. Drain the donuts on paper towels and fill each with fruit jam using a piping bag.
  11. Roll the filled donuts in sugar while warm and serve immediately.

Notes

Enjoy your donuts warm for the best taste and texture.
