Description

A comforting and creamy classic with tender beef, mushrooms, and egg noodles.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, cut into strips
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and sauté until onions are translucent.
  3. Add beef sirloin and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the mushrooms and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mixture, stir well to combine.
  6. Slowly pour in beef broth, stirring continually until thickened.
  7. Reduce heat, add sour cream and Dijon mustard, and stir until well combined.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt.
