- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil lasagna noodles in salted water until just tender. Drain them and lay flat to prevent sticking.
- Sauté the diced onion in olive oil until soft, then add minced garlic and ground beef, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Pour marinara sauce into beef mixture, let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese and egg until smooth.
- Layer as follows: sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers and finish with sauce and remaining cheese.
- Cover lasagna with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 15 minutes until cheese is golden.
- Let lasagna rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Letting the lasagna rest is crucial for clean slices. Use slightly undercooked noodles for perfect results.
