Description
A deliciously sweet twist on classic French toast that combines the flavors of cinnamon rolls with the eggy goodness of traditional breakfast.

- 8 slices thick, soft bread, crusts removed
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Spread half of the cream cheese mixture on four slices of bread, then top with the remaining four slices to create sandwiches.
- In a shallow dish, mix the granulated sugar, remaining ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until blended.
- In another shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk. Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture for 20-30 seconds on each side.
- Coat each sandwich in the cinnamon sugar mixture and cook in a skillet with melted butter over medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Serve immediately, drizzled with maple syrup or topped with whipped cream if desired.
Notes
For an extra treat, serve with fresh berries or a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top.
