Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, cream cheese, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and cinnamon in another bowl. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
- Mix the brown sugar and nuts (if using) in a small bowl.
- Roll the dough into small balls, flatten slightly, and place a teaspoon of the brown sugar mixture in the center. Fold over to seal, then reshape into a ball.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Drizzle with icing made by mixing powdered sugar with a little milk until smooth.
Notes
Ensure butter and cream cheese are at room temperature for easy mixing. Chill the dough if it’s sticky.
