Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix the softened butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth in a separate bowl.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Mix the ground cinnamon and brown sugar in a small bowl.
  6. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared dish and sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over it.
  7. Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon-sugar layer.
  8. Use a knife to create gentle swirls through the batter.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and enough milk to reach a smooth consistency.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake before slicing and serving.
