Description

Delightful chewy bars combining the warmth of cinnamon with a creamy glaze, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 pcs Eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream (or plain yogurt)
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract (or almond extract)
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar (sifted)
  • 2 tablespoons Milk (or dairy-free milk)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (or almond extract)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Incorporate the sour cream and vanilla extract into the mixture.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients in another bowl, whisking together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  6. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined, being careful not to over-mix.
  7. Spread the dough into the greased baking pan evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Make the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  11. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars, slice, and serve.

Notes

Experiment with add-ins like nuts, dried fruit, or chocolate chips for variations.
