Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream the butter and sugar: In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until fluffy.
- Combine mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the butter mixture. Mix in the milk to form a soft dough.
- Roll and cut: Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut it into squares.
- Prepare the filling: In a separate bowl, mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to create the filling.
- Fill and seal: Place a small amount of the filling in the center of each dough square, then fold over and seal the edges.
- Bake: Place the filled squares on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool down: Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container. If storing for several days, place parchment paper between layers. Can be frozen for up to three months.
